Description

These are the only living ceteceans of the Kryocene, descended from Bottlenose Dolphins. They have yellow bodies with a white underside and black stripes and spots. At 13 feet long, these large dolphins have a shortened snout and an unusually large head, supporting a bigger brain. They use primitive spears to stab fish. It's the first step to a society.
Spears:
They usually work as teams. Three individuals work together. Two adults retrieve shark teeth and coral bits from the ocean floor. A juvenile which is small retrieves seaweed. Both adults hold up the tooth a coral "stick" with their mouths. The juvenile swims above and under the items that the other Keels a holding, wrapping up the meeting point between the tooth and stick. Then he/ she uses their very dexterous tongue to go in and out of the seaweed, creating a knot. This thus creates a spear. They sometimes will use other Keel teeth to stab, but those are for spearing and are dull. They use it to spear and collect as many fish as possible (shiskabab). The shark teeth will simply stab and quickly end the fish's misery. The spears are left by ocean floor landmarks that are rememberable. If sand covers the spear, then the Keels get sponges and sweep the sand away, to prevent getting cut by the points (as some pods do today when hunting stingrays). They finally grab the spear in their mouths by the coral and when hunting will swig their bodies into their victims. These include small to large fish, cephalopods, unlucky seabirds and even sharks.
